VoLUNGteers are one of the most important parts of our event. Listed below are the various VoLUNGteer opportunities available for 2008 Climb Atlanta. Please read the following information to find available positions in each category and then complete the Volungteer Registration to sign up. Call Holly Mull at 404-577-4212 for more information. You will be contacted for your Volungteer assignment.

Climb VoLungteers (need to be physically able to climb up or down a maximum of 10 floors)

Elevator Monitors
  • Accompany climbers on elevators
  • Escort climbers to building exit

  • Medical Team
  • EMS at registration and throughout building

  • Roving VoLUNGteers
  • Relieve stairwell monitors

  • Stairwell Monitors
  • Encourage climbers
  • Observe climbers safely ascend stairs and prevent crowding
  • Notify EMS if a climber needs help
  • Clean stairwell of any debris
  • Remove banners in stairwell at finish

  • Water Station
  • Hand out water bottles to climbers

  • Exposition VoLungteers

    Award Ceremony
  • Assemble awardees for ceremony
  • Pass out medals to winners

  • Entertainment
  • Assist with band set-up, electricity, food/water breaks, errands or communications
  • Assist warm up exercise instructor

  • Exposition Set-up

  • Set-up and tear down of table, chairs, tents and signage

    Clean-Up Crew
  • Clean elevators, lobby & building exit of any debris

  • Travel Team Registration: $100 non-refundable deposit, plus $1,500 to be raised by March 15, 2008

    Travel Teams are eligible for reduced rates at the Atlanta Marriott Marquis; ask for the Climb Atlanta rate at the time of registration. Watch for more details about Travel Team package coming soon. Please register through the Travel Team Registration Page.

    Waiver of Responsibility

    In consideration of the agreement by Bentley Forbes Bank of America Plaza (“Owner”) and the American Lung Association-Southeast Region(“ALA-SE”) (collectively “the Released Parties”) to permit me to participate in CLIMB ATLANTA which includes entry into the Bank of America Plaza, to be held on April 19, 2008, I hereby for myself, heirs, executors and administrators, waive to the fullest extent permitted by law any and all claims I may have for damages against the Released Parties and all individuals associated with this event, their representatives, successors and assigns for any and all injuries suffered by me in connection with this event, including pre- and post-race activities. I have been warned that I must be in good health to participate in this event and I attest and verify that I am physically fit and have trained sufficiently for this event. I shall at all times comply with any special instructions given by the building security staff or other building officials and shall not intentionally interfere with the safe enjoyment of the event by other participants. The forgoing shall in no way obligate any Released Party to ensure my safety. I grant permission to the ALA-SE to use my name and photographs, video tapes, motion pictures, recordings and any other record of my participation in this event for any purpose.

    I understand that all fees and donations made by me are non-refundable. I understand that to enter CLIMB ATLANTA the following must by received by the ALA-SE:

    1. a signed registration form on either paper or online
    2. the appropriate registration fee
