Camp Breathe Easy 2008
June1st-6th, 2008
Camp Breathe Easy is a seven-day, six-night overnight camp for children,
ages 7-13, with asthma who need medication and are limited in summer camping
opportunities. The children learn asthma self-management techniques and
coping strategies to better handle their illness.
Children receive a traditional summer
camp experience under the watchful eye of medical professionals who volunteer
their time to the program. Campers swim, repel off trees, fish, canoe, play
soccer, basketball and miniature golf, and participate in ceramics and arts
and crafts.
Camp Breathe Easy is held annually
at Camp Twin Lakes in Rutledge, Georgia (about an hour east of Atlanta).
The camp provides financial support through 'camperships' for those unable
to pay.
