Open Airways for Schools is a school-based health education program designed to empower children ages 8 to 11 to manage their asthma through an innovative, interactive teaching curriculum that brings together children with asthma, their parents and community-based facilitators.
The program consists of six lessons to address the issues of barriers to asthma care. Open Airways for Schools helps students to recognize their asthma triggers and emotions associated with asthma and to help them develop their own management steps to improve asthma care.
